So what pops into your head when you hear the words 'Youth Ministry' or 'Youth Group'? Maybe you think of a bunch of kids sitting around praying? Or maybe you've actually been to a youth group and know what it's all about. No matter what you think of, it's time for you to take another look!
We here at St. Charles would like to invite you to look through this website and consider getting involved in our awesome community. As you will see on the pages to come, St. Charles youth ministry is much more than an occasional Sunday night meeting. The programs you will read about cover everything from singing in the choir to building schools in Mexico; from being a Eucharistic Minister on Sunday to being on an Ultimate Frisbee team; from monthly community service opportunities to overnight lock-ins with dodge-ball, video games and enough food to feed an army! There is really something for everyone here!
St. Charles Youth Ministry is based on the idea that Christian faith should impact every aspect of our lives - it's not just about going to Mass on Sunday, it's about inviting God into our everyday lives and learning what it means to live the Gospel and be a true follower of Jesus. It's about relationships, making friends and getting to share our lives with each other. That's why we try to foster a fun, relaxing and welcoming environment for you to develop relationships with other kids your age, with adults and of course, with God. St. Charles Youth Ministry is about building a community for high school kids and helping them to become a key part of the entire parish community.
So there's a lot you can get involved with; tons of programs, great people and fun things to do. In addition to activities, we also have counseling services in case you're having trouble with anything, top-notch leadership training (good for college!) and much more.
No matter what you’re are looking for, we know that everyone wants to be part of something great. So on behalf of Fr. Greg, our pastor, the kids on the Core Group and everyone here at St. Charles, we'd like to invite you to be part of our community - St. Charles Youth Ministry. So far this year over five hundred high school kids found out how great youth ministry can be, so why not get involved and find out for yourself today?
