Welcome to the Hammering in the Hills webpage! Many past Hammering in the Hills participants have told us it was the one of the coolest experiences of their lives. This amazing trip can be a life-changing, empowering and faith-filled experience that stays with your forever. You will have the chance to explore a different culture within our own country, reflect on social issues, cultivate relationships and most importantly, continue to explore the integral link between Christian faith and the Gospel call to service and justice. And, you'll have fun too! Hammering in the Hills is truly unlike any other "service" trip you may have been on in the past. During our time together you will have the opportunity to help build homes in the beautiful McCarr, Kentucky area. In addition to the service work we also engage in educational, cultural and social activities. McCarr is located near Matewan, West Virginia, a town rich in American history. Hammering in the Hills will make you think, teach you about the disparities within our own society and help you to reflect on what your Christian faith says about it. http://phelpshabitat.org/index.html
